Hello guys! Today we learnt about prayer, right? Just to allow you guys to remember! (p.s: we repeated this in cell 2 times)

In addition, I’m seriously and sincerely glad that we had this cell outing before school reopens. I believe that today’s cell outing was enjoyable. We had pot blessing and treasure hunt.

I hope that as we plan more cell outings (example: night cycling, bowling + steamboat), our unity in cell will grow stronger.

We are one big family and we cannot do without one another. To all who could not make it for today’s cell outing, please try to come for the next one yeah? (:

Hey Kingfishers~! i knoe this photo is kinda random.. haha.. wld like to congrats edwin for winning 2nd place for his body building national competition last sunday... (I think its an honor to be posing in a photo w him few wks b4 e competition..haha!) hmm.. i guess body building speaks alot abt self-discipline and having e courage to overcome the odds....... isnt it? :)

2 Tim 1:7 says "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."

Lets ponder on this verse.

Indeed we do nt need to b fearful of anything - not our common tests, not our projects, not all the expectations laid b4 us, not men. But this day we can live by God's word. we can walk in the power of God dat enables us to overcome all things. Yes, all things. we can live by the spirit of love that compels us to love ppl - even frens who irritate us, projectmates who disappoint us, non-christian classmates who despise or persecute our faith, or others who gossip behind us - God's love pushes us to go beyond ourselves, to love the unlikables, unconditionally. And if we let the spirit of self-disciple fill us, we will see how effective and aggressive we can be for the Kingdom of God - one who forcefully advances His Kingdom! becos we wld be able to prioritize and set our minds to do what's right. and our very eyes are set on Jesus, the source of our strength, despite overwhelming distractions.

Empty urself. Let Him fill u. Get ready for breakthrus!

The Bamboo and the Fern

One day I decided to quit ...I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me... "Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?". "Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would not quit." He said.

Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant.

But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle." He said to me.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you. He will never give up on you. Never regret a day in your life. Good days give you happiness; bad days give you experiences; both are essential to life.

EAST COAST CELL OUTING!~~~

Okay okay; yesterday; our ultra lovable cell met for cycling at EAST COAST PARK! We met at Macs, Jayni, Adriel (Poofy), Eugene (Bumpy), Dan Yeow, Kanggy, Faith, Barney, Fredrick, Bro Andrew, Cheryl and I.

There was quite a bit of hiccups at first; for the outing. For starters; my toe got injured 2 days before, and I nearly couldn’t make it. Then, Faith got this ultra lousy bike; which was so loose and creaky; we all nearly left her behind; but thank God Eugene noticed and looked out for her. I raced all the way back to swop her bike; but I guess it was a blessing in disguise; because we got extra time! Anyway, thanks to the injury; Cheryl and I had our guards up against the enemy; so we had our prayer swords up and ready. Then when I raced back, Faith wasn’t well! So she had to go somewhere with Cheryl to rest; and my heart gripped as I quietly told the enemy to back off in prayer. What’d ya know; shortly after; Faith was alright again! It was God; it had to be.

So we were back on track; on our bikes and all; and we cycled all the way to Bedok Jetty so we could stop under the scorching sun to snap a whole bunch of pictures of us against the tempting sea. Somehow; the sea looks a lot cleaner than it used to. Must be our government at work again; see? That’s what’s great about our country. Well, anyways; the typical “swanners” (our term for “verbal sarcastic attackers” in the cell) Poofy and all were definitely at it with the predictions of what might happen if they threw Barney or me into the sea. So thank God for the scorching hot sun and the cranky fisherman who claimed that we were in his space; the “swanning” had to stop as we scooted off from the area on our scalding hot bike seats. See, the seat is black, and we all know that black is a fantastic absorber of heat right? Well yeah; we had a very interactive science lesson back there; one we’d never forget.

Back at the hawker, we all sat down for drinks outside; and Poofy had to leave for church then; so we continued to goof off there a while more before heading back to return our bikes.

The real fun was when we were back, and Barney got his “Cutest boy in cell” title; awarded by me; for all the adorable little idiosyncrasies you can expect out of him on a daily basis. Like for example; while we were walking there; he wanted to say “dying to try” but he got the words mixed and ended up saying “trying to die”; so we all decided to help him with his request. =P

Later on; my ah boy (a.k.a Kanggy, because he’s my son) swopped slipped with me; and mine was the ultra cute fishy slippers; so I was amazed any guy could fit his foot in my shoe because my feet is supposed to be Cinderella-sized; and the rest of the guys began trying my slippers; and some really could fit! But it was exact fit for them and ultra loose for me. I couldn’t walk for long in Ah boy’s slippers; although I pretty much liked the idea of seeing a boy in pink fishy slippers; but going around in slippers my Dad’s size was like wearing snow shoes; big bulky snow shoes. You get the picture.

After Jayni, Dan Yeow and Faith left; we gathered by the beach to play Drinking Goggles, and other brain teasers from the guys like Eugene’s “how many meh-meh jumped over the wall” and stuff. It got hilarious; when Ah boy got the forfeit and was made by Eugene to crawl along the ground shouting, “THE NAZIS ARE COMING!” It wasn’t so fun though; hee, when I got the forfeit with Eugene, and we had to do the Titanic scene on a nearby rock by the sea; only that our roles swopped. Then Bro Andrew came back with ice cream from Macs for all of us; and the boys were ultra mean in snapping photos of my unfinished ice cream! Hmph. I shan’t share more.

Going on the beach, we dug a huge trench in the sand which they called, “taby’s bath tub” or “taby-tub” (like; why on earth is everything named after me?) with our bare hands and we had tonnes of fun just scooping out sand. After that, I made mounds of sand to surround the rim of the tub for the sake of it; and it was finished! Once again; it was photography session with our jump shots (mostly unsuccessful ones except the ones taken by Bro Andrew); and God was gracious in holding the rain back for us until the very last jump shot was taken and we were leaving. Although we got caught in the rain; we were one satisfied; happy and hungry bunch of kids.

After lunch; we all decided to pick Net who was to return from Cambodia that day from the airport; so we travelled straight there to surprise her. While waiting; we played Polar bear; initiated by Barney while waiting for Net to return. It was an ultra scheming game; a test for liars; and of course; we all sieved out the capable liars from the incapable ones in that game. There was one really naughty round with Barney played; in which there were no Polar Bears; only hunters; and that cheeky boy watched as we all killed each other in suspicion. Kind of reminds me of how the enemy works in our lives; when he plants his deception and sits back and watches in amusement as we destroy each other in ignorance.

Once again; after that we were dashing down to the arrival hall from the viewing gallery to meet Net; (Tail’s joined us at this point) and because she took so excruciatingly long to get out even after touching down; we were stuffed behind a counter facing the entrance doing a series of squats down each time she passed for fear that she’d see us. Although I doubted highly that that was possible because of the distance we were at; and because she was busy and wasn’t expecting us; so no sane person in her position would scan the entire area of the airport upon arriving. But we were still ducking up and down anyway; for the sake of it.

She came out smelling like the cosmetic shop we watched her come in and out from. Obviously; the girl must have dumped the entire testing bottle on herself for some unknown reason; but it gave me great satisfaction to hug her and rub off my Singaporean scent of perspiration, rain water, and sea water onto her because of that =P. NET WAS BACK! But because she was really exhausted; we had dinner without her before ending heading home.

Okay... This is really late... But; I guess I just had to write it. LAST SUNDAY’S CELL! =P

Why it took so long? I guess, because... I was preoccupied; trying to drown God out in my life by going through the motions of everything I could occupy myself with; frivolous or not. I needed some time in getting back on the fast lane with God again. Hey guys, can I be honest with everyone here? Yes, I was in a season of doubt in God, due to some setbacks I’ve been facing. Why? Because I’m human too; and I’m prone to disappointments when things I believe in don’t come to pass as I’ve expected. But I just had a good talk with God, and He reminded me of all that I should really be dwelling on; persevering in. So; it’s been some time, but I’m back on my feet thanks to the God whom I love! =D

So; now; for cell last Sunday....

This time; Eugene lead gel by placing a sofa in the middle of the room; with Edwin and I on one side as the "Christians" and the rest as non Christians; who were to climb over to be saved. The catch was; Barnabas; the appointed "devil" was to stand on the sofa and tap people on either side to stumble them. Those who were tapped were to return to their end of the room and touch the wall before resuming their climb over. Strangely; Barnabas only focused on the non Christians; who sat there as a group, completely stunned for the moment before realising that they had to move as a group to distract the enemy. They were all waiting for each other; so of course; onus was on us Christians to pull them over; but they seemed confused or reluctant to even begin. Not quite what we expected? I guess our cell is cute that way. But overall we had fun and Eugene brought across his point of seizing opportunity for evangelism. See? If not our non Christians would be too stunned and shell shocked to come to Christ; LoL..

Then, for glorify, Cheryl began by humbly letting everyone know that she wasn't good with guitar; but she was going to lead with it anyway because God sees the heart. On the whole; we were a little out of rhythm sometimes; but that was okay; because the cell just engaged in worship; and God's presence was undeniably there. It took her great courage; and I know God honoured that.

For grow; I lead for the first time in a long time. We did it on perseverance. By this chap; Noah, who was assigned by God to build a giant ark with limited; ancient tools in the middle of a desert; and then stuffing a pair of every animal on earth into that thing. Sounds like an immense; almost ridiculous project of that time? You bet! But Noah obeyed; no questions; he didn’t even worry about the details! And he did it for 120 years! WOO! Even as I was leading; it hit me; who was I to doubt God’s instruction and will for my life when this guy can work at it for 120 years and be honoured by God?

“But... is it wrong to question God?” Eugene brought up; while we were on the subject. We came to the conclusion that it wasn’t wrong to ask God why He did what He did; but because He was God; He could choose not to answer us, and then the onus would be on us to continue to trust Him; regardless of our rationale. But of course; asking for confirmation and checking with God is fine. Noah must have done it too while getting instructions for his ark.

Finally; Dan Yeow lead us in praying for HOPE, before bring up our CELL OUTING! Okie; HOPE first; I’m sure all ya folks have invited and prayed for your friends right? Hey; feel free to stick any prayer requests regarding oikos up on the tag board; so our cell can keep them in prayer. Remember guys, we’re one family, so when we pray and war; we do it as one. Let’s make it a culture shall we? To keep each other; and each other’s folks in prayer, yar? =)

And...CELL OUTING! In case there’s anyone amazing enough to be unaware, it’s THIS SATURDAY, 10AM, at Parkway Parade Macs; we’re going East Coast for cycling!!! Bring $15, okies?

actually, when i was running today, God spoke to me about this shirt while running.

this is my testimony for running: i had a sin that lasted me since primary school till poly year 1. i still remember the day when i had committed the sin once again, after promising God that i wouldn't do it. i cried and i slapped myself alot of times. i felt so guilty and i just wanted to run away from the room filled with sin.

suddenly, i had an urge to run. this was weird because i always hated running and i was terrible in it because im severely flat footed. i would feel like crying whenever i ran my 2.4km and whenever i jog by myself, i barely lasted more than 5 minutes.

anyways, i didn't think much and i just got out of the house and ran. suddenly, i felt as though the burden of sin was being thrown of me. before i started running, i felt guilty to face God. but now while running, i realized that God told me that He had forgiven me and He told me to come home running back into His arms.

that day onwards, the sin was broken, never had i committed it again for more than half a year. i feel happy whenever i run by myself, because God would be speaking to me. whenever i ran and plugged into praise songs, i would run wild for God and start singing along while running. people would stare and me and wonder, SIAO.

and i always always wanted people to know that this running energy i get is not self-attained but its God-given. i want people to know that i'm running for God.

that's why i want to get a shirt that tells people, i'm running for Christ. WHO HAS SET ME FREE.

Confusing Bible?..NOT AT ALL

While i was on the bus,God revealed this to me which i think made a lot of sense.
There are many reason why people backslided from God, 1 of the more popular reason is that the Bible is a contradiction of itself, for example now it says this, then later it say another entirely different thing and how is it suppose to be any help when its cannot back itself up, which is TOTALLY not true.
See the Bible is like a 101 survival guide, therefore it will have all the millions of combination of verse and phrase to form yet another million solution for 1 same scenario that different people are facing.
Then you ask how do we know the answer, that is where the Holy Spirit comes in, He will provide a path out of the many for us, for the plans he had made for every1 is different but will all be for our best.
But the thing is we ourself choose not to follow it for many reason,which im sure we will all face at 1 point of time, therefore when we try to find another path out which is not possible at all or which will lead to a deadend
Then we are stuck between following God which might be painful sometimes or following our own path which is what God Never intended for us.
Then we go back to the why nonsense why God does not want to help me and what happened to the almighty Word of God, when we in the 1st place nvr choose to accept it.
See the whole picture? That is why it is very important that when we choose to give up our life and let our Father guide us, when we ask Him for help make sure that you are ready for whatever answer He gives you although it might seem impossible but rmb He who made all things had alr known you b4 you were even created therefore KNOW that he has alr all the plans for you.
Basically thats all hope this will come in handy and always read your Bible +)

Are you too busy?

Long before I watched this video on www.tangle.com, I already knew that busy-ness was one of Satan's schemes to keep us away from being in full communion with our Holy God. However, just now as I was watching this video, it was like a reminder to myself that we have really been too busy for our own good.

One part that particularly spoke to me was 3:05, which says 'Even in their recreation, let them be excessive. Have them return from their recreation exhausted.' As I read this line, I wonder, what is the true meaning of rest? I was in a Tenet class last week, and Pastor Dennis said this, 'We all need to learn to rest. Many of us think that resting is sitting on the couch and watching TV is resting, but many of us do not realise that playing is hard work!' And it's true, many of us do not know what true rest is. Let me give you an example. If someone is stressed out over work, he/she takes a vacation. The vacation is supposed to allow him/her to rest. But when he/she comes back, he/she takes one more day leave from work to rest from the vacation before going back to work!

And so I can't help but wonder, what is the true meaning of rest? What comes to mind is Psalm23.

PSALM 23
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,

V1 'The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want'. In school, are you found wanting in terms of results? In the workplace, are you found wanting in terms of promotions? How many of us dare to fully trust God with our grades and promotions? How many of us would be found receiving a bad grade and praising God for it, knowing full well that He is in control? Now I am not saying that we should all be complacent in our studies/work, I encourage all of us to do our best in these areas. Rather, what I am saying is this, how many of us fully understand the power of God in our lives? How many of us trust God with it? Or are we found striving? Are we found wanting? Striving for more of worldly success, or wanting more worldly riches? Again, we come back to the topic of sensuality, which I shall not say more, having written my thoughts in earlier posts. Friends, today allow me to charge you. Dare to trust God fully with your life. Dare to be strong and courageous even in wanting times, even in times of trials and confusion. Dare to trust God. Notice the term is 'I shall not be in need', but it is 'I shall not be in want'. This speak volumes of our priorities when it comes to living our lives. Te Bible tells us that as long as we have food on our tables and clothes on our bodies, we ought to be content. Everything else that comes is a blessing from God. Do not be found wanting, my friend, for you are well taken care of. Your author of your life knows your beginning and your end, and He has everything well taken care of.

V2(a) 'He makes me lie down in green pastures'. Physically speaking, does anyone have to teach us how to lie down? Does anyone have to be forced to lie down? The answer is NO. All of us were born in a lying down position, unless you were born standing up, which is highly impossible. But in the spiritual realm, do we have to be taught how to lie down? The Psalmist David wrote of the Lord that He MADE him lie down. How many of us have to be made to lie down in God's presence today? How many of us dare not even lie down in God's presence for a minute. Too busy with worldly things to do that? Friends, learn today to lie down in God's presence. Learn today to bask in the fullness of God's beauty. It's a wonder how we need to learn to lie down and allow God to refresh us. Nut nonetheless, my friend, learn.

V3(b) 'He guides me in paths of righteousness'. Righteousness is one of the names of God. Jehovah-Tsidkenu: The Lord our righteousness, found in Jeremiah 23:6. Many of us today are found wanting in our schools, striving just to be top, to gain recognition, to obtain our 'best for ourselves'. Friend, let it be known to you that your self-worth is not based on what you can do, but on who you are, and you are a child of God. Need I say more? You have been forgiven and blessed by the only one who could condemn you. Instead of chasing after worldly wealth, chase after the righteousness of God. The righteousness of God brings forth favor. And when you walk in the favor of God, you will walk in the favor of man.

It's currently the March holidays, and it's holidays for me too, waiting to go into Ngee Ann Polytechnic to start a new season of my life. And as I look back, I wonder, how have I been spending this holiday? Have I used it well to rest and be recharged by the Holy Spirit? If you are having your holiday now, use it well. Learn what it means to truly rest in God's presence. Many of us seek temporal enjoyment, going to the movies, or 'sweating it out', or playing computer games etc. Not that all these things are no good, I myself enjoy doing all these. But is this truly resting? or are these just temporal get-aways? Just something that allows you to temporarily forget reality. What's the difference between this and getting drunk, taking drugs etc.? Don't seek temporal get-aways, my friends. It leaves many of us more exhausted than before, and then we need to 'rest'.

And now onto sleep, is sleeping really resting? We speak of getting 8 hours of sleep, to ensure getting enough rest. But won't some of us testify that sometimes sleeping leaves you more tired and sleepy than before? I'm sure many of us have snoozed the alarm clock in the morning, or requested for '5 more minutes' when someone tries to wake us up. I believe if we had truly rested in our sleep, none of these would actually happen. We'd all be so refreshed we get off our beds instantly with joy, ready to embark on the new day! But unfortunately, it doesn't happen often.

What then, is true resting? Personally, I get recharged whenever I enter into the inner courts to meet with God. Every time I enter into God's presence and commune with Him, I find myself recharged and re-energised. And so, to me, resting is about waiting upon the Lord, to simply adore and love Him for who He is, and then for God to love me in a tangible way in return. Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin was a Pastor in the United States. It was known from his son, Jr Kenneth E. Hagin, that there was a period of time that Rev. Kenneth E. Hagin did not physically sleep for a few months. At night, he would be found praying and studying Scripture. And when his son asked him, Rev. Hagin would answer, 'The Holy Spirit will refresh me'. Now that is something I want to experience myself! Again, not that sleeping is no good, but when it takes a certain priority in your life, you know you better sort out your life. True resting is about basking in God's presence, worshiping Him in praise and song, about communicating with Him.

I have shared this with a few people, to whom God allows me to. I don't know when this started, but it has dawned upon me that either I just don't care, or I am just not sentimental, or that I trust God a lot, and I think it's the latter. Many people think my life has no problems as a result. Haha, not true! In fact, in recent times I have been through many ups and downs, I hardly share with anyone though. But even through these times of tribulations, I testify that I did not feel stressed/upset whatsoever. I simply felt peace. And it's a wonderful feeling, to just be at peace no matter what happens. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7) I hold firmly to this verse, which says a lot about letting go and letting God. Truly, dear reader, it is so important to allow the peace of God to guard our hearts and minds. You won't fully understand this until you do it. So go do it.

Rest well, my friend.

'I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.' (Psalm 4:8)

OKOK this part is really the tiring 1 liao ok.me nvr bluff ppl 1.we also gt our own erm hmmm "outing" from island creamery to maritchie wif the bus stop as the ending point wahaha. But tis time left me, edwin and jie xun only. and we walked about 1 and a half hour and finnaly reach the place.
Only took a few pictures on the road.The maritchie park pic picture wif the 2 of them coz i took a 1hrplus video of the whole walk so next time do treadmill no scenery juz c the video and imagine u r there wif us hahaha. But seriously there were a lot of beautiful scence and lake side type of views inside next time we should go treaking there like so nice only and so peacefull

PART-1
ToDay after we had lunch at adam, Me(CF aka Kangaroo), Edwin, Jie Xun and Terence(from NYP 4gt which side 1) went to island creamery due to Mr. Mocca RANDOMNESS.At 1st wanted only 1 tub of 500ml ice cream instead we ended up eating 3 cause we were to high on ice cream liao then cannot control keep buying lol after having second tub wanted to go off then saw Barnabus[i dunt noe spell correct nt ], a new friend charmaine(again dun noe correct nt) and 1 more guy forgt his name ps. Then out of nowhere we went and buy 1 more this time 6 person eating.WAHAHAAHA.and had lots of random fun and jokes which are way toooooooo long but mostly on bird brain tabby hahaha.Mayb next time after service we can all go and get each person a tub then try finish all the flavours.Oh ya also gt a video but every1 too camera shy lol and you can c charmaine here only coz she dun wana do solo shots.OH YA ALSO IN THE MIDDLE of the video that counting,he actually charging me KA-SHING, KA-SHINGs($$) for me taking him.

henderon/bukit timah hill

In the forests of Bukit Timah Hill...

The whole garden was filled with boungenvilla bushes; so it was really pretty.

This was taken in Terrace garden; along the giant stone steps.

the giant spider and web we saw just before embarking the henderson wave bridge.

Upon re-entering the nature reserve again; this time going alog the route of the bicycle trail; this was the point where we got lost and had to find our way back.

At the start of our hunt for Henderson Wave, from Habour Front interchange. This was taken along Marang Trail.

Henderson Wave itself! Guess some of us were too tired to smile when we reached.

Once again; this was even earlier than the Marang trail.

It was tonnes of fun; we saw various species of Fungi; ferns, creepers, including one called the Simelex which has broad leaves and grows so fast it smothers the plant supporting it underneath. On Bukit Timag Hill too; there was the rubber tree; so I found a rubber seed to show the rest on the ground. Rubber seeds; by the way; are one of the prettiest seeds thanks to their hard woody; waxy texture; and they're one my favourite seeds right next to saga seeds. Along the tree top walk at Henderson later on; we saw plenty of ant nests too; Weaver ant nests; commonly known as the red ant: we spotted their nests formed out of leaves woven together to form a pouch along the trees; too bad I couldn't find one up close for the rest to see how the ants guard their nest at their posts; but it was really exc iting anyway. Then there was the giant spider we spotted just before crossing the Henderson Wave bridge! (see above)...

Anyway; seeing all these just made me even more awed by the God who created them. Who says you can't feel nor see God? LOOK OUT OF THE WINDOW AND SEE THE DETAILS IN EVERY LEAF; ANIMAL; AND TREE FORMED! WHO MADE THESE THINGS?

"...STOP and CONSIDER GOD'S WONDERS." Who caused ants to weave and such gorgeous variants of fungi to decompose dead plant life? I think; to fail to see God; one must be blind.

bukit timah hill and henderson wave

hello dudes and dudettes (: this was what happened during the two informal outings, one outing at bukit timah hill and the other outing at henderson wave.

thursday (5/3/2009): brandon, taby, sheng and i went to bukit timah nature reserve! brandon was injured, i was sick, taby is the little kid (we call her the creature) and sheng was the only healthy and fit adult.

when we arrived at the BTH (bukit timah hill) taby first sentence was "i know bukit timah hill very well" all of us just followed her lead, WHOAAA. she walks ultra fast and she stops every 5m to check out FUNGI? haha! so anyway, reaching the different check points and summit were really really easy. but trekking down from the summit was the difficult part.

while we were trekking down, we realized that there were 3 paths for us to take. brandon wanted to go left, taby wanted to go right. hence, we followed taby's lead. taby was a fantastic tour guide, she had a wide knowledge about the plants and she was keen on widening her knowledge. (anyone who is interested in finding out more about the type of trees and flowers, please go to her :D )

anyway, on the way down, we got lost at the diary farm road. we thought we were reaching civilization (the visitors centre) but actually we were heading towards the expressway. we just kept on walking and walking. finally, we realized that we were not going in the right way and the only way back into the nature reserve (taby's civilization) was to climb over this huge long gang. brandon and sheng assisted taby and i while crossing over the DANGER ZONE. real gentlemen (: we spotted taby's bathing place, which was a huge water tank in the middle of nowhere.

we had trekked for a long period of time and could not seem to find a way out. brandon and taby were dehydrating. brandon was seeing DOUBLE? and taby had a headache. we had no choice but to keep moving. [i'm glad my clorets helped brandon's dehydration HURR HURR] thank God that we spotted a pond that had fresh clean water, hence everyone drank up and carried on trekking. HURRAY!

we finally reached and we started at 11am and finished the whole entire course at 3.30pm. oh yeah, before that, sheng and brandon could not stop feeding the monkeys with biscuits?!! tsk tsk.

saturday (7/3/2009): chuan fa, brandon, taby and i went for the henderson wave excursion!! before we entered the henderson wave, there were 2 paths we could choose. haha! again, taby said, "i know this place" hence she wanted to go to the right, but i preferred the left path because it stated HENDERSON WAVE TRACK. plus, thinking about what happened during the bukit timah hill walk, brandon and i felt rather uncertain about taby's words. HAHA!

the scenery was really beautiful, theres no words to describe it. when you're there, you can see it for yourself. nature is indescribable.

of course, i have a video of taby and brandon fighting!! woo!! it was really funny when brandon, suddenly and randomly, used a plastic bottle to hit tabys head. and the WAR started. goodness, chuan fa and i could not stop laughing as taby began running after brandon. brandon's cynical laughter and taby's voice made the scene even funnier.

this walk was relatively simple as compared to the one at bukit timah hill nature reserve. but all in all, i had the quality time to bond with my cellgroup mates as well as church friends. (:

i love bonding activities and would really like to encourage the entire cell to do such activities together. i believe if you can make time for your friends, you are able to make time for your cell group mates. you will never regret the time spent together.

yes? guys, during the holidays, take this time to grow in the knowledge of God's Word as well as grow deeper in the relationship with Him.

“Worry is a sin,” declared P. Dom today during Prayer Meeting; which Chelsea, Cheryl, Eugene, Poofy and I attended. Today was powerful. In response to all the recession; worries; and many other challenges coming our way as a church; P. Dorm got us to declare God’s name in every situation in our lives. “Because, when you worry,” he continued, “you push the God of peace away to focus on the situation. God calls us to rejoice; and again, rejoice; in all situations; in faith we rejoice.”

“Phil 4:5-6,” he went on to proclaim, “do not be anxious about anything; but in everything; in prayer and petition and with thanksgiving; submit your requests to the Lord and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” As I prayed along with the rest of the church and declared who God is in every situation of my life; the God that conquers, that heals, that protects, provides, delivers; I began to see how we could live victoriously in every area of our life; no matter what is thrown at us; because we have a God in whom we can depend on. All too often; because of the various circumstances in life, we people tend to complicate things. We worry about 101 things regarding a situation; making it more complex than it originally was; tangling ourselves into even more anxiety. Ever heard of people worried about worrying? It gets as ridiculous as that; but it happens. When P. Dorm said this; I realised that this was God telling us to put our hands over our mouths; to BE STILL; and KNOW that HE IS GOD. I think; I’ve said enough here; haven’t I?

Sunday morning cell

All right; time for another episode of the CELL TIMES! Hehe; Kidding >.<

But seriously; this week was once again ultra fun and interesting because we had the arrival of the GEE-NAHS! Yep; there was POOFY (Adriel), Fredrick, Eugene, and Barnabas (a.k.a. Ninja; Garfield; Barney- please wait while the cell Nickname Committee finalises their decision). Unfortunately; not all our beloved GEE-NAHS were able to join us due to various reasons; so we will be looking forward to the following week when they make their honoured appearance.

This week; cell was held on Sunday morning, at Powerbase; because we just started our holidays! So all 11 of us squeezed into this ultra cosy room; where we played BATTLEGROUND; this gel I came up with to begin cell. On one end of the room; with Net, Poofy and Kangaroo defending the framed picture (a.k.a the “PROMISE LAND”) behind them with crushed paper balls as their only ammo, and the rest advancing from the other end of the room for the prize; otherwise their doom; should any paper ball hit them; just once. I thought they being the bigger group consisting of Barnabas, Fredrick, Dan Yeow; Mocca, Cheryl, Odi, Faith and Eugene would somehow devise some kind of strategy to win; but I guess it didn’t work. All died from being stuck by paper balls accept Cheryl; who bravely took 4 steps forward and died courageously too. What did that illustrate? Paper balls: aka sin; past; temptation the enemy may toss our way. See; that guy can’t do anything to touch us; but he sure can throw his ammo to block our paths and cause us to fall. Which is how (I think we all understand here: the fall of man occurred) But thank God; who so loved us; that we’ve got more than one life against those paper balls when we advance in His battle with His strength. Of course; it took that step of courage first; so my game could also otherwise be known as, “the CROSSOVER”.

Then Odi lead us in glorify; and Mocca shared his testimony of his poly life; how he used to “smoke” stuff (I mean this metaphorically)for his papers; how he’d choke down 10 hardcore chapters for an exam the next day; how our grades could bank on our project group mates as well; but how God saw him through anyway. Yeah; we all agreed; poly life was a whole new ball game from secondary school; but with God’s focus; we’ll not only survive it; we’ll enjoy it. We then worshipped God with the song “Still”, played by Dan Yeow on the guitar; and really became still in God’s presence.

Net then lead us in grow on VIPS- Vibrant Atmosphere; Incredible Unity; Passionate Heartbeat; Strategic Leadership; inviting us to suggest on how we could work towards it as a cell. It was at this point; when Bro Andrew joined us and loomed over Barnabas’s shoulder as he innocently explained what Strategic leadership meant to him in reference to his leaders. Bro Andrew then proceeded to add; before scooting off; that we are all in strategic positions by God; Net can’t reach out to the friends I’m with; so on and so forth; it’s self explanatory. He expected to see 4 cells by the end of this year; with so many rising leaders in our cell. In fact; he believed; EVERYONE could lead a cell. Do you?

Net went on to mention peer mentorship; on accountability; and keeping each other in check; in other words; watching each other’s back and spurring each other on. That was what we had to do to achieve Incredible Unity.

Then Faith led prayer; that we would not forget our focus; that we’d continue to invite our friends; that we won’t take a “moral or God holiday”; this holiday; but we’d continue to actively seek Him. And Dan Yeow closed in gear up; with a crossword puzzle which concealed all the “GAME PLAN” terms; in light of our upcoming event this 24^th March. Yeah; so that was cell!

Hi Np Kingfishers!! I know this is the exam season for all of you, but just want you to know that exam times need not be stressful and demoralizing, but it can be fun and also a great way to share bout God. Always remember that YOU are not going through the exams alone.. GOD is interested in your exams too!

When I was going through my papers, it can be quite stressful as the papers are usually back to back.. I remember Isaiah 40:31 which says, "but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary,they will walk and not be faint." This verse has always encouraged me to lean on God as my rock and fortress for strength, not only during exams but also in tough situations. Its amazing when our Heavenly Father renews and refreshes us, giving us the extra push!

Commit your papers to God!! Proverbs 16:3 says.. "Commit to the LORD whatever you do,and your plans will succeed. " I remember committing my exam papers each day to HIM, during one of my toughest exam papers when everyone else is so stressed out mugging right before the paper, I could really feel HIS peace and assurance in me which made me very calm and compose. Praise God that He honoured me with great results as i committed the exams to HIM, acknowledging that He is Soverign..

Do take this period to keep your friends in prayer too.. Don't be surprised if they come up to you asking you for prayers because they can see God's peace and strength in you. So I really want to encourage everyone of you to really See your exams as an opportunity to give HIM the glory as you commit your papers to God, and as you rely on HIS strength.

I'm keeping you guys in prayer!! =)

hmm just wanted to share..
okay not everyone knows, but my dad's a non christian. as pastor dom's father has passed away, my mum used this oppurtunity to tell my dad more about our mighty God (:

currently he has the mindset that like, he thinks he has sinned alot in life, and hes not fit to be a christian. cos to him, christians = very perfect, never makes mistake. then if he wanna be a christian he cannot make mistakes either.. ya kinda confusing. but ive been trying to show him how wonderful our Jesus Christ is, and all that He has done in our lives. Ya.. so really pray that he will be saved and he wont doubt God anymore. :D

Okay, I couldn’t sleep, and I can’t study either, so I ran around appreciating everyone I could think of; and now it’s all your turns! This is to encourage you folks for exams, yar?

Faith:	That quiet; yet strong, persevering nature of yours which you use to approach the most adverse of challenges thrown at you. I admire that; it speaks of the pure, calm, yet decisive disposition you have. Once you’ve chosen something; you stick to it; you go all the way in pursuing it. Now that’s really something.

I say it spells courage. That courage which you use to overcome challenges, make choices, and do your best in everything you do.
Chuan Fa the Kangaroo:	Okay; I haven’t known you for long, but I love the desperation you have in pursuing the things you want to know about God. Your strength? The carefree; cheerful, down to earth nature you use to approach your challenges. You aren’t afraid to ask when you need to know something, and you do it with a smile.
Edwin Mocca:	You notice the little things; the fine details people normally wouldn’t pay attention to, and you are excellent in whatever you put your heart to. Not to mention, that funny, congenial nature of yours which we all understand draws people to our cell and Christ. And you’re really responsible too; about whatever that has been assigned to you. Man, it must have been tough playing tax collector in our cell; but you did it with your best, and with a smile.
Dan Yeow:	Admire the courage you took to being and complete your own pursuit of Christ. You can be the next Lee Strobel (he wrote the book, “Case for Christ”). It took you even more courage; I’m sure, to return to this cell. But hey, don’t stop there; keep pursuing Him; with that same determination, alright?
Gi Tiong:	That friendly; helpful nature of yours was what first struck me about you. It took courage; I’m sure, to come to this cell; to offer your service in the littlest; often unrecognised ways, and to open up, to a bunch of crazy kids like us whom you didn’t know well then. Keep it that way; continue to depend on Him for your needs, and God will extend your territory in more ways than you know.
Cheryl:	Strong hearted; determined; and oh so ultra amusing and adorable! You’ve taken many leaps of faith; which I shan’t share here; but I’m everyone else knows what I’m talking about ;) Love that humble, friendly, teachable nature you have at approaching challenges and people. The way you notice and appreciate people too; aww, so sweet! And whoa, man, are you one stylish, fashionable girl! Hehe; watching you every week is like watching a one of a kind live fashion show =P
Sheryl:	That shy; yet cheerful, friendly nature you got. Top it up with that smile you have; like almost all the time. It’s cute. To the max. Hehe, but I know that you are one who’d serve the best you can when you choose to avail yourself; like how you’ve been doing in everything you’ve involved yourself in so far.
Odi:	Wait ar.. WUDI! Everyone who is reading this; read aloud with me okay? Say, “WOO-DEE!” (emphasis placed on capital letters =P) My courageous, firm, calm, determined, funny, absolutely adorable, ultra cool CO- PRAYER WARRIOR IN CHRIST! NET NET:	NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! Hehehehe, that ultra sweet; patient (especially with someone as rash as me), intelligent, sensible, courageous, down to earth, caring, motherly, forgiving, understanding, cheerful, encouraging, loving friend and PARTNER AND BELOVED FRIEND in SERVING OUR GOD! Your strengths are so obvious in cell that I don’t even need to describe them here; right? =P

Hehe, on a side note; I was having tonnes of fun studying, because I committed every study session to God in prayer before I began, and He gave me inspiration in mapping out (I’m a mind mapper, you see) every chapter of what was required in the format I liked, such that I had lots of motivation to keep going. To me; it was not a study for exams anymore; but more a pursuit of curiosity. The joy of the Lord became my strength; and it can be yours too. Just ask for it.

Of course, there were the breaks in between; I played as hard as I studied: cared and connected my friends who needed encouragement or tips, scooted about the house and did quite a bit of housework, including making my parent’s room look like it had room service (my mummy was pleasantly surprised when she returned home) and of course, writing this blog. So it’s still been pretty fun.

Egg Mystery

Here’s the deal: a week ago, Jie Xun and I were chatting online, and he mentioned about the food outlet he works in. While they prepared their egg mayo, with all the necessary hygiene standards observed, he noted that the air cells in the eggs turn brown when they are mass boiled, and because of that he stopped wanting to eat egg mayo. So we decided to search for an answer, but Wiki answer and Google failed to yield me a valid one, so I’m throwing the question to everyone here. How did it happen?

Why I throw this question, you ask? Because I’m curious, and I know our cell is full of smart, thinking people, that’s why. Here’re the responses I’ve collected so far:

Sunday morning, just before service

This morning, Chuan Fa aka Kangaroo lead us for cell prayer! Because it was his first time; he met me at 9 that morning (cell prayer’s at 10:30am) to prepare his pointers with me. So he shared the prayer pointers he sensed from God; I gave him practical tips on how to disseminate the information; and voila; we were done!

So the folks who were present for prayer meeting today were Mocca, Faith, Net, Odi, Cheryl, and of course, Kangaroo and I. Kangaroo then proceeded to share with us, on how God spoke to him from 1 Corinthians 13:4-6 , which reads,

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud..... it always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

His prayer pointers..? (And the things we covered under it)

1. Pray that God will show his love for us through His work.

· V-day event

· He’d show us His love to non believers.

2. Pray that we would show the people love by bringing them in.

· Fruits of the Spirit

· People would see God’s love for us.

· Extra love, from Him, to love His people

3. Pray that all the faith and hope we have is possible because the love God has for us.

· We’d acknowledge that

So we prayed in pairs, one pair per point, and he rounded up. Then we scooted off for service.

Heyy peeps~! jus wana share this photo with ya~! this was taken last wk for a reunion dinner with my beloved alumni np cell folks... there were a few more who were not at the dinner. out of this cell there are abt 8 ignyte adult leaders not counting those who r serving in district now.. we were so gel up together that we still meet up for reunion dinner after we've graduated for 3-4 yrs..!!

Jus wana share with u that it is a BLESSING to be in a cell.. not just that u will know many gd frens... but also u hv godly friends to spur u in ur faith and to encourage u in difficult times. I believe God will likewise bless The Kingfishers @ NP!!

Hi Guys,Just wana share something that went thru my mind when i was reading thru Luke 24 6:8.
Even though at many time God told us to do or not to do something we tend to forget especially when after some time cause we are all forgetful. And when this happen, sometime we tend to rely on ourself and not on God's word and his promises to help guide us thru tough time especially when making certain decision. There's this phraases that says,"Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds", i don't noe bout the rest but for me this phrases really made an impact, and make me rmb that we have God with us and there is nth he cannot do.But WHY do we still have doubt, that is for your to question yourself, but for me the ans is OBEDIENCE, we are just not there yet that is why we must keep reading His words and just trust and obey the thing he commanded us to do and never let go no matter how tough and doubtfull at time He might be to us especially when we have friend and other factor tempting us to question Him but just keep in mind that He created us and he noes everything what we are going to do like he knew that judas was going to betray him with a kiss. Especially at this streesfull period, there'll be time when we'll be flared up and don't know what to do anymore rmb that He is always with us.

Kangaroo Chuan Fa

Evangelism day during cell- 10/2/2008

This was the first time NP cell evangelized on campus. We were going to bring the news of our church's Valentines' Day event, "Take My Hand" to the students in NP. I am sure many of us were excited about this movement.

Personally, I was excited. Cheryl and I were paired together to salt the campus. Together we believed that many people will come for the event and would eventually accept Jesus.

We went to five places, namely: Block 56, Underpass, Canteen 1, Atrium and the Student Plaza.
On the whole,some of the people we approached were pretty cold, and some were quite neutral; as in: they would not mind us sharing about the event as well as Jesus Christ.

In the Atrium, Cheryl and I got to share with a guy called Anton, who was a foreigner. We told him about the "Take My Hand" event and managed to share Christ with him. During the conversation, I kept asking questions regarding his knowledge of Christianity, his view about church. Although he wasnt very spontaneous but at least a seed was sown. I took down his contact number and covered him in prayer before leaving.

Subsequently, we also managed to speak to a 3rd year FMS student and told her about the event. We found out that she was a Christian, and she also asked for more cards so that she could invite her friends for this event as well.

Later on, I sensed from God to go to Student Plaza. I was hesitant at first, but eventually I gave in, so I told Cheryl, "let's go to Student Plaza." so we went.

As we neared, we saw that there were groups of people seated at the tables near Cheers, and we felt that it will be difficult to reach out to them. As we continued to look across, there was a student seated alone. So we used this opportunity to reach out to her. We introduced ourselves and got to know that she was Xiao Yu, a Year 1 Accountancy Student.

We found out that she came from China and currently staying near NP with the Landlord's family; together with some roommates.

After that, we brought up the "Take My Hand" event to her and asked whether is she was open to religion. When we knew that she was open, I continued to ask her more questions about what is Christianity meant to her. She shared that her landlord and family also told her about Jesus Christ and revealed to us that her family does not have a religion and she hopes to be in a Christian organisation and wanted to find out more about it.

Some questions I asked were "where do you think will you go after you leave this world?" and "what do you understand so far about Christianity?".

Her response were pretty much uncertain but she showed some enthusiasm in wanting to know more about Jesus Christ.

Thus, I began to draw the bridge diagram and explained to her what Christianity was and why Christianity was different from other religions. Bringing up topics such as Jesus as the only way to Eternal Life, His love for this world and the Book of Life.

The conversation got deeper each time and she also asked us why we are so passionate in spreading the good news. I answered her that Cheryl and I were touched by God in every situations we faced and we want to bring the goodness of God to everyone.

In addition, I also shared my testimony about how God changed me as a impulsive person to a person who is more calm-thinking and cheerful.

She was pretty interested in how God had showed His work in both of us.

As we continued the dialogue, she revealed that the stress of the coming exams had gotten to her, so I told her that we are having Church Service at 11am every Sunday in Trinity@Adam; just in case that she could not make it for the event.

Before we left, Cheryl exchanged contact numbers and prayed for her.

As your adult leader, I want you all to know that I am very proud you.

Despite this exam preparation period, when everyone is busy preparing for exams, u guys took the step of faith and go forth to invite the people in your campus for the Vday event! U guys came together.. believed.. prayed and put ur faith into action!! During this experience, some of you even had the chance to share with someone about Jesus and saw how God moved in the conversation!

This is just the beginning... MORE is to come!

Sunday Service: Contagious Faith

This week, Gitiong lead us in cell prayer. These were the points he dished out to us, as we stood around him in a circle, right outside chapel, shortly before service:

· Being bold in turning to God regardless of magnitude of issue

See, often times, when the issue’s “controllable” we have no qualms about committing it to Him in prayer. But we have a tendency to struggle on our own when things go out of hand (it may be the other way around for certain people).

· Against compromise

Even small ones can change a person. According to James 3:44, “Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.” Just like the rudder, the little compromises we make can drive us in the wrong direction.

· Solid, child-like faith; like a mustard seed.

Because mustard seeds can grow to become big trees, upon whose branches birds take refuge. We want our friends to be able to take refuge in us; in God.

After that, we had service, and this week’s sermon, on Contagious Faith, by P. Andy, had an illustration which moved me to tears. As he broached the subject of how we may have been hurt sometimes by the peers whom we tried to reach out to, he invited a boy from the congregation to help him by playing “man”, and he was to be “God”.

“Every time, God reaches out, and you reject Him, it’s like (paused here, spoke to the boy, who gave him a slap on the cheek) a tight slap in God’s face.”

“HARDER! “ he exclaimed, in response to the boy, who repeated.

“HARDER!” this time; the slap was so loud, it was heard throughout the chapel, and I burst into tears; because God convicted me at that moment, when I was growing weary about reaching out to this friend who has caused me so much pain previously, and yet He still wanted me to press forward. Seeing my Pastor get slapped was painful; but the revelation of the message he had meant to convey through it struck me even harder.

I was chatting with my Mummy, when she brought up something worth thinking about: God speaks to us according to our intelligences: or inclinations and interests.

Okay, short explanation here. See, this fella called Howard Gardner came up with this theory called the “multiple intelligences”: according to him, there are 8 intelligences (go research yourself if you want to know), in words, maths, art, movement, music, with people, with yourself, and with nature.

Anyway, back to my mummy’s theory about God, I couldn’t help somewhat agreeing with her. See, I love words and nature, and I find that these are the 2 main forms in which God speaks to me. When He first taught me to pray, he spoke through verses, or short impressions of words about the needs of people. He spoke to me in what I was interested in too, like once, when I was walking home, and I walked past a flock of Egrets (the white, long yellow legged birds you see hanging around once in a while. They’re migratory birds.) He then said, “you see those birds? Their season comes and goes, and in the same way, yours too. But your season comes only once. Seize it.”

So; I guess I believe that theory; since I’ve experienced it myself. After all, He did promise, “Call on me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. –Jeremiah 33:3” Wanna pursue and interest; a dream, or just know yourself more? Go ask God; He’s the best person to show you anything you need to know.

Campus cell; back at school again...

Campus cell; back at school again...

Alright; this week we hit the campus again in the evening in our full strength; with Bro Andrew able to attend cell from the start! *claps*

Clarice lead gel this week, for the first time, and we played “Blind tic-tac-toe”, where the folks were split into 2 groups, and our two appointed commanders, Faith and Kangaroo were to command their team members to move to their strategic places on the grid we formed on the floor in order to win the game. This, Clarice explained, was to show how one needed to live in obedience, or else, they would fall out of position, and lose their initial purpose. But of course; to obey, they needed to trust and walk by faith; not by sight.

Then Cheryl lead glorify; when we just shouted to our God and left our cares to Him, as we regained restoration in Him. Net then got us to turn to (find chapter) where Jesus knelt down and cried tears and perspired blood as He prayed before He was crucified. “Lord; if it’s your will, take this cup from me. But not my will but yours be done.” He prayed. Jesus’ complete obedience to the point of self sacrifice was what really moved me; even as we shared about how we have struggled; (or are struggling) in various areas regarding this in our small groups (I grouped with faith and Clarice. =)

Then, after committing ourselves to God in prayer, we gathered together again for prayer. This week; instead of praying for the cell (yes, that’s important) and for the church (yes, that’s really, really important) I lead the cell in praying for the CAMPUS. After all, that was why we were sitting there; why our cell was campus based. So definitely; we should function as planned by God. Back to our 4 small groups we prayed and sensed:

· Set themselves apart (3 affirmations)

· Break secular rules against evangelism

· Christians to be bold, strong, and persevering; that they’d step out in faith towards those in need

· Break mindsets against Christians

· 1 Tim 4:12
“Do not let anyone look down on you...” (2 affirmations)

· That God would cause awareness for needs (2 affirmations)

Bro Andrew went on to declare then that this was meant to be a RADICAL CELL; so we would rise up to that call. And we could start by inviting our friends for the coming Vday event; which we were geared up for through the scene of “who wants to be a millionaire”, starring Gitiong as the host, and Net as the first maid on the show.

After cell; Net, Odi, Kangaroo, Cheryl, Gitiong, Mocca, Bro Andrew and I scooted downstairs to play with sparklers! It was really fun; and by God’s grace we had our fun in peace =P So that was cell!

hello~ yesterday and including this morning, i was thinking and worrying about my DSS grade. i had a BLAW test today as well and i only had 30 mins to prepare for it. i was panicking for BLAW test as well as mentally calculating my DSS marks (i had a project due on 5th and had a major test on the 9th.)

suddenly, i thought to myself, HOLDDD IT. why are you worrying for? if you worry, it means that you're not trusting that God would good take care of you. i said a prayer and asked God to forgive me for my worries.

and i believe, during this period, all of us would be panicking for your examinations as well as projects.

these are 3 verses for you to get rid of that worry! although they're simple verses. they mean alot when you pray it with faith. (: [if you guys have any more verses you want to add, please do so! :D ]

1 peter 5:7 "give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares for you."

Philippians 4:6 "don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done."

Matt 6:32-33"these things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your Heavenly Father already knows all your needs. seek the kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need."

i was sitting behind the wheel, on daddy's lap.
my little hands were gripping on to the gigantine steering wheel.
i felt so grown up. i have always wanted to drive.
i looked up and saw daddy, with his hands on the
upper part of the wheel, smiling at me.
"okay? you ready?"
i nodded, and slowly the car
picked up speed. it was good at that moment.
i was in control. i tried to turn the wheel to the left.
left again.
it was hard to turn with my small hands,
but the car was moving and it was exhilarating.
it picked up speed. then i saw a curb..
i quicky spun right. but there was ANOTHER curb.
i tried to turn left, but the car was too fast.
we were heading for the curb. i didnt know what to do.
i screamed. (and watched in fear)
"DADDDDYYYYYY!!"
before we even reached the curb,
daddy turned the wheel swiftly. we were saved!
i breathed a sigh of relief.

somehow this reminds me of my present situation.
i think im holding on the steering wheel. i think im in control.
i think i can do it. my car, my life, in my hands.
but my car is heading for the curbs.
can i really steer it properly?
so i lift my hands and scream,

This week, we had combined cell again, in a smaller setting; with gel lead by Barnabas, then Net Net; and this week, we had our beloved Sis Serling to join us! (Everyone give an imaginary standing ovation! ;P) We started by getting to know each other with the “2lies, 1 truth game” where players were supposed to share 3 things about themselves, and everyone was to guess what was real. Then we were lead downstairs, where we were blindfolded and assembled in a row, hands on the shoulders of the person in front of us. As we walked, Net whispered in some of our ears, “There’s something in front of you. Let go.” When we removed our blindfolds, we realised that our line had disintegrated such that only Kangaroo and Jayni were left, right at the front. Net then went to explain that in our walk with God, it’s really by faith, and not by sight, and the enemy would try to throw many obstacles with his deception our way, like placing the thought, “there’s something blocking you,” in us, to break us apart. But as a cell and God’s army we’ve got to move on, not letting go, and standing united.

Back in Blue 5, where cell was held, Adriel lead us in glorify; with Jayni as the guitarist. Personally, it was... relieving to worship God again; after all the morning’s stress and rush. After that, we broke into our individual cells for Grow; Sis Serling joined Adam (*cries*) and Net lead us in looking at the various positive qualities of the Disciples of Christ. So words like, “bold” and “persevering” came out. But we all realized that the one quality they had in common was their heart of service (well, most of them.) So we broke into smaller groups to talk about the different areas in which we could serve God; and then prayed about it.

(: hellooo dudes and dudettes. haha (: ITS GOING TO BE CHINESE NEW YEAR IN AN HOUR AND 5 MINS TIME. EVERYONE SAY.. "WOOHOO!!"

anyway, yesterday, as i was doing TAWG with God. i read this verse in Hosea, "When the Lord first began speaking to Israel through Hosea, He said to him, "go and marry a prostitute, so that some of her children will conceived in prostitution. this will illustrate how Israel has acted like a prostitute by turning against the Lord and worshipping other gods.

he was called to marry an unfaithful woman and (later if you read on..) he was asked to call his own children "not loved" and "not my people"

put yourselves in Hosea's shoes! i would be like "whaaa.. are you kidding me?" but instead Hosea sacrificed himself so that he could get God's message conveyed across to Israel. Hosea was obedient to God's calling even though it was something so difficult to do.

will you be obedient to sacrifice yourself so that other people may benefit?

Dear ppls!!

It's been almost a wk in reservist now.. so far things has been good! for every 12 hrs shift, i get to partner with dfferent police officers. bascially wat we did was... we patrol and patrol and patrol..... ensuring the security n safety of urs in the community u r living in.. =) (tat's why at nite u slept so peacefully mah...) so for each shift i wld be sitting in the FRC (fast respond car or police car) with my partner, to respond to any messages/cases. I had a good time knowing my colleagues.. Working with them is an honor.. for a layman like me, its a privilege to be working with experienced police officers and attending to real life cases in the front line (so far.. things has been pretty peaceful except encountered some drunkards sleeping at the roadside and disputes.. etc) its exciting to be on the night shifts.. as u wld see 'more interesting' cases..

Reservist has been quite fun but dangerous at the same time.. so I covet ya prayers for safety and that God wld provide opportunities to even share the gospel with the my colleagues (so far.. i did nt hv e opportunity to talk to them directly abt God cos of our engagement in work but they do know im a Christian and i had e little oppportunity to talk to a couple of them abt christian missionary work...) =)

I believe its also the way we live our lives and the little acts of kindness that God wld use it to touch and open their hearts! Gal 6:9 "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." =D

alrights ppls...! here on this chinese new yr's eve.. wishing u all a Blessed Chinese 牛year!! Have an awesome time...

Sunday Morning (extension, right after cell...)

LoL; feels like I’m writing some kind of serial drama... Anyway, for all my beloved readers out there who are curious about what we normally do after cell, here’s something to chew on =P.

So after cell; within the 10 minutes or so which we had to break just before service (correct me if I’m wrong here; occasionally my sense of time may be inaccurate, because everything seems to happen so fast). We had our usual weekly prayer for cell, just before service. (okay, I admit omitted the chit chat, la-di-da we all had with everyone else. By the way, fyi: our cell is excruciatingly slow at moving from point A to point B, because we’re so stuck to each other).

Fyi about cell prayer: a culture we started about some months back (don’t ask me when, I don’t remember), when God placed in our hearts: Tails, Bro Andrew, Net and I to start cell prayer at pretty much the same time. So we started meeting every week about ½ hour just before service. Now finding a place to pray was difficult, since every inch of the church would normally be occupied with people (praise the Lord for His abundance) but God provided us with a place, which we affectionately named “Mount Sainai”, because it was at 4M, right on top, a rarely used stairwell right next to the toilet. Every week either Net, Tails or I would lead prayer (Bro Andrew couldn’t be there because the KF at Adam were having their cell and they needed him), and whomever from our cell who could make it would pray with us as a cell. Wow; that’s a whole lotta information. Ok, latest news on cell prayer now: we’re letting the members lead prayer too! And it started this week, with Valerie, one of our ultra powerful Gina’s, leading prayer as a section! Woohoo! Admire the courage she’s got to talk to the whole bunch of us. In pairs, she got us to pray with each other; on the sermon by P Derick last week, titled, "OUTWARD BOUND", which calls us to care and connect, by stepping out of our comfort zone, in compassion, and conviction.

Then we had service, when we all danced before God at the front during worship, and P Andy’s sermon, titled “to Be or not to Be” was awesome (wanna know what is was? Muahaha, BE there next time!) and after that we went for lunch as a cell. Yup, that’s all!

Oh one more thing: on an unrelated note, since Tails and I were arguing while I was writing this, everyone cast your vote: who’s more rational? Me? Or tails? Stick your opinion on the tag board! Although I think we all agree the answer’s pretty obvious.

Combined Cell, Sunday morning, just before service

We had combined cell with the other zone 2 folks, including the JC’s and our beloved sister (note that I used “SISTER” and not “BROTHER” here) cell Kingfishers at Adam, where all the other poly’s are, and where all the “Gina’s” (Hokkien, or Malay? For “kids”) are collected at, waiting for their posting results. Gel lead by Bro Andrew was... ahem; out of the ordinary. Although come to think of it we have never had any ordinary games before. In a huge circle of 40 over people, we were to turn into “rams”. Each player had one hand on their head, and their preferred hand free to deflect other oncoming “rams” or to touch the elbows of other “rams”. Of course, we couldn’t have everyone play at one time, so we numbered off, and Bro Andrew would call numbers to send 2 victim rams into the ring to battle out with each other. It was entertaining, really, until my number got called at round 2, when the target was knees instead of elbows, and Net happened to be my opponent. So Halleluyah, we approached and circled each other menacingly as the cat fight unravelled, neither willing to lose to the other. Cut the whole story short; till now, the result is still uncertain. =)

Then Pastor Andy got us to form a double layer circle, and the inner circle was instructed to face the outer circle. There was this murmur of excitement which P. Andy appreciated, by declaring that he liked noise, because it meant life in the place. He went on to emphasise on how much he appreciated the family spirit we had, as a Zone 2, and how we could and should be open with sharing with each other, which we did, later on, with different people, as the inner circle was to rotate in a clockwise direction, stopping at one person at a time. The newly formed pair would exchange on God’s latest revelation to them. That was pretty cool, since I got to hear from a JC kid and other kids I wouldn’t normally get to hear from, by virtue of my cell’s constraints.

Finally, P. Andy ended by sharing his heart. It’s always so intriguing and fun to hear P. Andy share his heart; because he speaks from the ground level, in that realistic, down to earth, yet especially amusing fashion of his. He charged us, as the Zone 2, to set the culture for the younger ones (Pri 6 to upper sec), within our cells. “You know what makes us attractive to people out there?” he exclaimed. “It’s that family spirit; that warmth, that openness to share!” (okie, I admit here that I can’t recall his exact terms; but here’s the gist of it anyway.) Because, according to him, the truth of the matter is that it’s a cold, hard world out there. It’s especially so, in Singaporean culture, where it’s a “you keep to your space, and I keep to mine” kind of unwritten social rule. After all, it seems silly to help a friend with studies if it means more competition for yourself. Out there, we can’t do much about it, but in here, amongst our cells, we can take down the walls we’ve built up for ourselves, and share and encourage each other. Not just to attract new folks, but to spur each other on, amongst ourselves. It’s not about competition and self protection here; it’s about helping each other and going up together as a family.

CELL, 13th Jan '09

this week, Cheryl lead us in a great time of gel: the personality game, to welcome our dear new brother, Chuan Fa! ok, i'll share about him later, but anyway, in gel this week, we were to share 3 main things about ourselves. 1. our nickname (shan't write mine here =P) 2. of our favourite foods, 3. adjectives to describe our personality. In a circle then, we were supposed to pass the motion by calling out the different things in question about one another. It was a really hilarious and interesting game, because we got to know each other better, like for example, did you all know that Faith's nickname in her secondary school was "Tofu"? because... we'll leave you to make inferences ;) And Gitiong called himself "introverted, extroverted, high". It was a pretty bad strategy since his was the easiest to remember, and apparently, he only remembered Mocca's personality, which was "determined, persevering and loud", and even that he got only partially right. So one could imagine what happened when he called Mocca, and Mocca would reciprocate almost twice as fast. Naturally, Gitiong got the honor of doing the forfiet for us, (along with Mocca and I), so I initiatedmy favourite song, "I love you Jesus, Deep down in my heart", complete with all the actions I learnt in Discoveryland (our children's minstry) for our darling boys to follow =P

After gel, we had glorify, and Faith lead us all in a time of prayer, followed by the song, "To the Ends of the Earth," because that was the song she felt led to sing by God that week.

Then Net opened with our Grow with a really interesting activity: we were supposed to grab our wallets, and present the most valuable thing to the rest of our cell. Naturally, all the ex link cards and credit cards came out, and a few sentimental boys like Gitiong showed off his 10 year old phone card, and Chuan Fa pulled out his primary school bus pass (he was like,"you can't make these anymore, you know?"). Net then went on to explain that often times, God's promises were like these things, kept locked in their wallets, or within us, they would never be of use until we took them out.

We then moved on Joshua 1, when God made a couple of promises to that then young chap called Joshua, who had just assumed leadership over all the Israelites, who were in the midst of entering God's promised land. We then separated in pairs to talk about the promises God had made to us; especially those which have yet to come to fulfillment, on how we could work with God to see them come to fulfillment, and then we prayed about it.

After that, we came together to pray for our friends, especially those who came for our IWCP, that they would be touched by the love of God within us. Not to forget; before that, we shared about how Chuan Fa came to be in our cell! Cut the long story short: Mocca cared for him, as his friend and gym buddy, brought him to church; Halleluyah; he got saved, and voila, he's here with us now! Then we also prayed for Bro Andrew, who's going for reservist next week, and people who were having tests. Oh, Mocca too; he needed prayer because he had chosen to give up a competition that day (something really really important to him) just to come for cell.

Last but not least, our interesting gear up, courtesy of Mocca and Net Net. In view of the upcoming Vday event and CNY, they had a short skit on how one could care and connect creatively; or rather, effectively. Mocca came over and studied with "Boy" (can't remember the name Net assumed), and then he and "Boy went jogging together.

Finally, Bro Andrew took the opportunity to announce that Net was officially cell leader of our cell; yaE! And cell ended there. Yep, I shan't talk about how I threatened to drink Mocca's water each time he was naughty. We were wrestling over his 1.5 litre bottle in the lift as we went down, but that's not relevant. =P

about church, and then on the whole bus trip,

Isaiah 43:18,19

God commands us to "Remember ye not the former things, neither the things

of the old." Rather, God gave us the assurance that "Behold, I will do a new thing;

now it shall spring forth, shall ye not know it?"

i remembered that at the first cell of the year (last tues) i prayed with cheryl

and faith that we, as a cell, will leave behind the past of 2008 and look forward to

a glorious and victorious future with God in 2009. No matter how many successes,

failures and breakthroughs that occured, it is now time to move on.

it is time to look forward.

2009

the year 2009 will be a year of new things as old things are brought to completion.

people need to stop looking at the former things, the past and STOP

trying to understand or formulate a course of action of how to respond or act.

the year 2009 will be one of conflicts, contradiction, confusion that our own

human wisdom and experience will NOT be able to answer.

but. 2009 WILL BE a laying of foundations of the things to come.

God showed me all of you now, all of you leaders that are laying the foundation of

cell at NP. and then He gave me the priceless chance to meet, one-by-one, the people

who are coming or are planning to come to ngee ann at the Open House.

i was just so astonished all the people He is sending our way.

2009 WILL BE a laying of foundations of the things(and the people) to come. (Amen?!)

it will also be the beginning of the completion of the prophecies of Jesus about the

end time. they will soon come to pass.

people, it is the final days.

there will be many who will come to the folds (rejoice!)

and there will be a great number that will fall away.

great fortunes will tumble, people will lose their jobs, economic downturns and

such have occured, and may occur more. we will see hypocrits, false teachers,

blind guides. all these will arise.

the only consistency is that Jesus Christ, our rock and redeemer, our shield and

support, our strength and our trust is the same yesterday, today and FOREVER!

right now, take a minute. examine yourself, reflect.

check ur focus and direction. examine your goal.

1st cell of the year!

okok, before I forget, which i'm pretty sure I will, in like; seconds, I better put this down on virtual paper =P

1st cell of the year!
we started cell with an absolutely hilarious gel, coutersy of Odi and I; a game called: SOMEONE SAVE ME! (name formulated on the spot because that was what we heard players call out most often ;P). We would play the devils, and everyone else were the "people": Net, Gitiong, Faith, Cereal, Clarice, Daniel, and Mocca were given a lifeline of 10 tokens (we realised that was too many if we wanted someone to "die" in 10mins by losing all his/ her tokens) and were allowed to "flee from us" before we came to "kill, steal and destroy" (muahahaha~) by speaking against them. The catch was, the victim we caught and spoke to was not to defend him/ herself, but other people was to defend him/ her by speaking a blessing/ care act to counter the enemy, and sacrifice his/her lifeline by handing 2 tokens to the victim. If not, we would take the victim's tokens. Mind you, the person with the least tokens at the end of the game would lose and do the forfiet; a fact which we cheerfully emphasised from the start. Everyone was too ready to sacrifice though; we should have made it harder to sacrifice, like maybe 5 tokens per sacrifice >=)

Anyway, at the end we revealed that the purpose of our game was to illustrate how it may seem foolish to the world to give of yourself to someone else, in effort to love them, especially under such circumstances, when everyone is trying to protect just oneself. And you do this just because you love and trust God enough to provide. Yup, you guessed it; we intended to illustrate how in loving God, we loved our neighbours and though it may seem tough at first, but we will have abundent life in the end. In this case, our forfiet was to recieve a prize from Odi and I (hehe, we have yet to get the prize >.<) That marked the start of our Glorify, when we had the opportunities to share of testimonies from 2008, of how we have experienced that for ourselves. (hint hint: feel free to post the testimonnies you shared in cell here k? =P) Then Net lead us in vision casting (Bro Andrew joined us here), where we broke off into 3 strategic groups of 3 to sense for God's heart for our cell in prayer, before coming back to consolidate all these. The points which were affirmed (this means another group sensed the same thing, or something similar) twice or more were:

sense of urgency (2)

harvest plentiful; workers few (3) (loving the unlovable) (abundence~~~)

leaving our past (2008) mistakes behind (2)

not our purpose but God's purpose (2) (focus on God; live a life pleasing to Him)

inadeuacy (2)

among these, other pointers affirmed only within the groups were:

Familarity with God's word for usage(2 Tim 3:16)

Rising of leaders for new folks (hey, someone's got to diciple the harvest we bring in)

complete unity (nothing to stand in fellowship; don't neglect meetings, proactiveness;

suffering "alone" for God for a while

enlarging our tents

seeking eternal treasure

Vision casting was like, woooah: Gitiong, Odi and Edwin (all in the same group) all had different visions which were sort of connected (I'll leave them to blog their visions, yar?) and it looks like God has quite a bit to place within us!

Bro andrew then went on to enforce, once again that truth, adapted from Luke 10: 25-28. In loving God with all our hearts, and loving our neighbours as ourselves, he then encouraged us to challenge each other by asking each questions like, "hey, how's your relationship with God doing?" or "How's your time alone with God?", regardless of position in cell. (Members are highly to ask their cell leader or SP's about such things as well.) We could also do care acts to care for each other. In doing so, we would be able to experience life abundantly.

Just as were ending off, Cereal spoke up and made a really imporant point: "now that we've said all these, what are we gonna do about it?" She was genuinely serious about everything we had put just put together then, and she was like, " so next week, everyone bring a friend!"

So we ended off with prayer, and gear up for Vday! note to all NP folks: ok, I know that it's right smack in the middle of our exam period, but hey, faith is being sure of what we hope for, and certain of what we do not see; let's see what's God gonna do about this one, shall we? ;P

change of perspective; how does the Enemy see things?

Recently my friend recommended me a really funny and intriguing fictional book called The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis. In it, a demon named Screwtape, the under-secretary of a department (his post in an organisation called Hell) writes to advice his nephew, Wormwood, a junior tempter, who is attached to a man, whom they objectively refer to as "the patient" on earth. In the extract below, "the patient" is a new Christian,(Wormwood complained quite a bit about his salvation in the previous chapter) who attempts to pray for his mother. This is an extract from the book:

Chapter 3

MY DEAR WORMWOOD,

I am very pleased by what you tell me about this man's relations with his mother. But you must press your advantage. The Enemy will be working from the centre outwards, gradually bringing more and more of the patient's conduct under the new standard, and may reach his behaviour to the old lady at any moment. You want to get in first. Keep in close touch with our colleague Glubose who is in charge of the mother, and build up between you in that house a good settled habit of mutual annoyance; daily pinpricks. The following methods are useful.

1. Keep his mind on the inner life. He thinks his conversion is something inside him and his attention is therefore chiefly turned at present to the states of his own mind--or rather to that very expurgated version of them which is all you should allow him to see. Encourage this. Keep his mind off the most elementary duties by directing it to the most advanced and spiritual ones. Aggravate that most useful human characteristic, the horror and neglect of the obvious. You must bring him to a condition in which he can practise self-examination for an hour without discovering any of those facts about himself, which are perfectly clear to anyone who has over lived in the same house with him or worked the same office.

 2. It is, no doubt, impossible to prevent his praying for his mother, but we have means of rendering the prayers innocuous. Make sure that they are always very "spiritual", that he is always concerned with the state of her soul and never with her rheumatism. Two advantages follow. In the first place, his attention will be kept on what he regards as her sins, by which, with a little guidance from you, he can be induced to mean any of her actions which are inconvenient or irritating to himself. Thus you can keep rubbing the wounds of the day a little sorer even while he is on his knees; the operation is not at all difficult and you will find it very entertaining. In the second place, since his ideas about her soul will be very crude and often erroneous, he will, in some degree, be praying for an imaginary person, and it will be your task to make that imaginary person daily less and less like the real mother--the sharp-tongued old lady at the breakfast table. In time, you may get the cleavage so wide that no thought or feeling from his prayers for the imagined mother will ever flow over into his treatment of the real one. I have had patients of my own so well in hand that they could be turned at a moment's notice from impassioned prayer for a wife's or son's "soul" to beating or insulting the real wife or son without a qualm.

3. When two humans have lived together for many years it usually happens that each has tones of voice and expressions of face which are almost unendurably irritating to the  other. Work on that. Bring fully into the consciousness of your patient that particular lift of his mother's eyebrows which he learned to dislike in the nursery, and let him think how much he dislikes it. Let him assume that she knows how annoying it is and does it to annoy--if you know your job he will not notice the immense improbability of the assumption. And, of course, never let him suspect that he has tones and looks which similarly annoy her. As he cannot see or hear himself, this is easily managed.

4. CAMP

alright... to begin with.... taby's back!!!! hehe, i must refer to myself as the third person to emphasize this =P

radical camp was absolutely amazing! God really proved Himself all powerful and amazing beyond words right even before the start of camp. Here's how it went:

Sunday, 1day before camp...

it had been 2 weeks of breakthroughs, back to back, non stop in God, but foolish little me was still anxious about what was to come for camp; for good cause, since this would mark the start of the first camp in which I was serving as a member of thecommittee. You know how Jesus prayed and cried till all the tears and blood came out just before He was crucified? Yeah, I had that feeling. I poured out all my anguish to God in a total of 3 worship sessions through out the day. (2 for service, one for the end of SP empowerment). After SP empowerment, just as I was about to leave, God sent a guy (whom I had known for seconds) to come up to me, literally holding his bible. "Excuse me," he began in the most awkward fashion, "God has a word for you." Putting down my things, I paused for a moment to turn to him.

His bible was turned to the first page of Joshua. "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid, for I will never leave you nor forsake you." For the moment, I was stunned beyond words.

"Thanks." I replied, after finding out his name. "I really needed it."

Monday, Day 1 of camp...

things were hectic, stressful, yet amazingly exciting and fun at the same time. Tails was my group leader (most unfortunately), and he began by introducing a stunned and shell shocked me as "the camp com girl" when I finally had the opportunity after the morning's rush of sign ups to meet my group. The journey there was.. amusing. In our typical fashion, we had *ahem*accidentally brought our cell culture of the "6th love language" up to be demonstrated in front of a bus full of 40 quiet members, with Bro Andrew whose group was at the back included. As if that wasn't enough, we still had problems finding the right hotel Selesa out of all the other hotel Selesas, which we just discovered existed upon reaching JB. Bro Andrew lead our entire bus in prayer, and we found the place; eventually. But during that time I got to make friends with some of the younger girls of our group, and that was great!

It was a mad rush upon reaching; as camp comm I was activated immediately to collect the challenge boards and shoe boxes, have them all up; with the help of my camp comm and then we were to rush down to set up for C and C games of day 1. There were quite a number of mess ups with logs; timings and so on (we had arrived late from searching for the right location), and I was busy trying to help my friend set up Freedom (the game) in a really windy place, so it kept toppling, until, in my frustration, I commanded the wind to stop out loud. It did, for a while; but God caused us to find a pile of bricks near by which we could use to stabilise the structure. God granted us divine speed in improvisation and operation, and we got everything done up just in time for the campers to run in for us.

Tuesday, Day 2 of camp...

After sleeping at 3plus from camp debrief and waking up at 7, we got up to set up the morning activity in the hall and to play with our groups. I was so happy then, because that was the second chance I got to hang out with my group that day, and I missed them terribly. It was really fun hanging out with the lower sec of my group, because I soon realised that one girl copied me; action for action, so I guess I subconsciously seized the opportunity to model what God has taught me for her.

Game set up was a little trickier, because we were supposed to go to the kite museum that day; which I must admit, wasexceptionally windy, and my poor neighboring station called "Fashion sense" kept having it's frame topple repeatedly in the wind. Once again, God gave us divine speed and resourcefulness, and things; though hectic, turned out well.

Wedensday, Day 3 of camp...
hehe, God promised me a number of things; including the salvation of a beloved friend of mine this IWCP as my bDay present from Him; so I was like, hehe: God, we got a deal here; I HEARD YOU. =P Also, P. Dorm dropped the huge bombshell of P Gary's new calling to the worship Ministry in Trinity; which means that from next year onwards, we are to share P Derick as our youth pastor with the folks at Paya Lebar. So we sent him off in prayer as an entire Ignyte ministry.

Thursday, Day 4 of camp...

the last day; we had a huge going away lunch; and a toast to send off our beloved pastor. On the way back, I got to sit beside another p6 girl from our group; and we had tonnes of fun making up all kinds of names for imaginary families under the sun; beginning with the Stones and ending with the Whites. Full of random, nonsensical fun; but it pulled us together; and when we were comfortable enough and had quitened down; I *innocently* asked which ministy she happened to be interested in. So she was like, "what's a ministry?"; so I explained all the different platforms in Ignyte in which we could use to glorify God, like tech team, or drama team. "So.. which one are you in?' she asked. (and I was like, "muahaha, got ya!" ;P) So I replied PTF, and explained what it was to her upon her further questioning. Random stuff; really, but when you choose to dedicate your every action to Him, He will cause you to sense and seize strategic opportunities for impacting someone else's life. As we passed Ngee Ann Poly, Tails, Bro Andrew and I prayed, declaring multiplication in that place. So yep; it was a fantastic camp.

hello dearest!! [: i've been wanting to tell you this amazing story and what it has taught me, ever since december 7th!! [:

finally! hahaah!! yaye yaye yuppie doodie yaye.

in habakkuk 3:17-18, it talks about habakkuk's fields being barren, all his labour failed and there was no more grapes for wine. he was in such a bad situation because he really had nothing left. but yet.. he was able to rejoice in the Lord.

he did not let his external surroundings, problems and feelings affect his joy in the Lord. he allowed his faith and joy in God to increase!

such emotions are difficult to attain. especially, in this generation, where everyone cares about me, myself and i. their emotions are dependent on how their day was like or what happened to them.

instead of focusing on our problems, we should focus on what God has done for us! [: our immense joy can become an encouragement for those around us.

let God fix our eyes on His kingdom and not on the problems we have because God is greater than our problems.

also, in 1 john 3:22, it says that "God is greater than our feelings!" so never let your problems pull you down.

let's continue to pray that ignyters will not let external factors affect their worship yes? [:

lastly, for christmas evangelistic party, i have two verses to spur us on! [: col 4:5&6, "live wisely among those who are not believers, and make most out of every opportunity. let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone." and gal 6: 7 & 9 "you cannot mock the justice of God. you will always harvest what you plant... at just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we do not give up."

continue to invite your oikos to this special event!! i believe YOU are able to influence and impact their lives. :D

oh my goodness, i still i've been too absorbed with mel and npal. i logged in this blog with my np password and username. :/

hoohoo. anyway, yesterday's service was excellent. let's continue to pray that we (np cell and ignyters) will serve unreservedly, unswervingly and unceasingly.

let's continue to give our all to God, not holding back anything. people may condemn you or try to bring you down, but you know that the sufferings of the present time cannot be compared to the glory which will be revealed (rom 8:18) yes yes?

the day before yesterday, i was telling God how sorry i was for the mere hour i could give to Him for TAWG, knowing that He gives His life to protect and love me. i read in 1 Cor 10:31, even the little things that we do, like the things we eat and drink, we need to do it for the glory of God.

wooowwwww. i mean like, wowwww.

so whatever decision you decide to make, eg. which IS module you wish to take in year 2 or which career path you which you head forward to, always make sure you ask God for His wisdom and help. yes yes? [:

also, we need to break the unbelief that we are inadequate for God's will. initially when pastor derrick said that "God may use you to be a president of your CCA.." i was like.. "whaaaat?? that's not possibl.. hey, that's unbelief man." LET'S BREAK THAT THINKING. i can, i must, i will!!! for the glory of God, of course.

lastly, let's break the sins that cause the barriers between the ignyters and God, yes yes? OH YAAAA. i was amazed when pastor gary burnt all the unholy things that we gave. ooohh, there was a golden flame and the stupid world of warcraft box just couldn't be burnt fast enough. but it eventually was. hurrr.

I GOT SOMETHING TO SHARE!

do you guys know about red camp?
every year we have three days of red camp
for the sec4 kids to experience NP life
and we top it all off with a hopnite on the last day.

and hopnite, as you all know, is something
like a watered-down version of clubbing
without the alcohol.

to some people, its just dancing!
or, i'm just staying there with friends,
there's no drinking!! or c'mon, its bonding
time with the other campers la...

but. there are stands that we have to make on
this issue.

on day 3 of red camp, one of the staff mentors
came up to me and asked me if i was
so-and-so's daughter. it turned out that
she thought that i looked like my mum, so
she asked. and years back she had sent her
daughter to my mum's childcare center.
what a small world!!
she told me to send her regards to my mum.

later, as the whole redcamp was coming to a close,
the emcee said something like, we're gonna have
a blast her at our own ZoukOut!!
and THAT staff mentor turned to me and asked,
so, does your mum allow you to come to such an event?
does she know?

and i told her,
er.. she doesnt know.. i didnt tell her, because
i'm not going.

and she asked,
why?

and i replied,
cuz i'm going to church. i've got something on.
(fresh fire conference)
if it was you, would you let your daughter come to
such an event?

and she admitted,
....no.... after all, it's like clubbing. so... no.

so over the next hour or so,
there were people asking me if i was gg for hopnite.
and i gave the same answer.

and i believed i made my stand by
showing very clearly that i chose CHURCH
over a hopnite/ZoukOut..

YAY! my common tests are finally over,
and there are SO MANY THINGS i wanna share!!

cereal shared that ode, tails (brandon), b. andrew,
herself and myself were there at the fresh fire conference.
and there was this AWESOME speaker.
bernard blessings. (i cannot remember if his first name
is right, but i know that his surname made me go, WOAH!)

i picked up bits and pieces of his message,
that i think you guys should know too.

FOCUS ON THE LORD OF THE WORK, NOT
THE WORK OF THE LORD.

guys, even as you're getting busier and busier,
do remember that no matter what you do,
don't forget to go back to Him.

In your studies, honor Him, BUT don't get too carried
away with "honoring God with your grades"
that you forget about God himself.
i was one such example. once i start worrying
about studies, i get so caught up. but God "goodness-ed"
me one day when He asked me, " why do you say that
your grades bring honor to me, when you get so engrossed
and forget about me?"

for those of you that are serving, it's the same thing.
dont get so caught up with serving Him that you forget
WHY and WHO you're serving.

and every day when you make a stand for Him,
remember who it is you're doing this for, why do you
want to do it in the first place. dont get so caught up
with the process of DOING that you get tired.

the bottom line: we serve God because we love Him
and not because of obligation. keep your focus right.
